There are several places that can offer listings of attorneys by specialty. Obviously one is your local phone directory. Often attorneys are listed by their area of expertise. Depending upon the area of practice that you're looking for, there are numerous organizations with websites on the Internet that you can also find a reputable attorney.
Local bar associations often have directories that you can access as well as the International Bar Association. Keep in mind, however, that even with a listing of attorneys that specialize in the area that you're interested is just a starting place. You should still take the time to call names on the list and ask for referrals and ask trusted friends and family members for referrals as well.
Choose your attorney as you would your physician by making sure that this is someone you feel you can trust and rely on for accurate information and follow through. A good legal directory is a great place to start in finding that professional.
